RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman inaugurated on Wednesday projects worth SR3.235 billion for Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University.
These include buildings in the university campus in Riyadh and its branches and institutes in different regions of the Kingdom, services and technological projects, accommodation units for the teaching staff, multistory parking lots for students, infrastructure projects for telecommunications and electronic systems.
King Salman laid the foundation stone electronically for several projects of the university. They include educational, services and technological projects in the university campus in Riyadh and the university’s branches and institutes in different regions of the Kingdom, totaling SR8.590 billion.
The King also inaugurated an exhibition on the sidelines of the 2nd International Conference on King Abdulaziz History being organized by Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University.
It included pavilions of King Abdul Aziz Museum, King Abdul Aziz Public Library, King Fahd National Library and Imam Muhammad Bin Saud Islamic University.
The monarch also inaugurated the museum for the history of science and technology in Islam that was set up by the university in cooperation with the Institute of the History of Arab and Islamic Sciences at Frankfurt University, Germany.
King Salman also honored several princes, ministers and businessmen who financed research chairs in the university.
Secretary General of the conference Dr. Talal Khaled Al-Turaifi said the nine themes of the conference include the personality and approach of King Abdul Aziz, social, economic and cultural changes during his time, Arab and Islamic issues etc.
Diplomatic and foreign policy issues, the sons and companions of King Abdul Aziz, references and studies, and King Abdul Aziz in a global view.
Nearly 100 male and female researchers of various nationalities and from different countries are taking part in the conference. There will be symposia, exhibitions, and cultural and literary activities on the sidelines of the conference’s sessions.
A speech on behalf of the participants was delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Al-Qadiri Bochish.
